Dancing Queen: The Music of ABBA Fort Worth Concert reviews
Great bands, Bad arena
I've always been a huge fan of Styx and Dancing Queen: The Music of ABBA. I usually see them at indoor facilities. This time around, I saw them at an outdoor arena in San Antonio. The acoustics were great, but the seats were horrendous. I could not understand a single word either spoken or sung throughout the entire night. I don't know if it was mainly the music was too loud or the arena itself. I'm thinking it was the music because in the past their lyrics and music come through loud and crystal clear. Maybe for this particular place, the bands needed to turn the volume up a notch. I hope that if or when these bands return to San Antonio, they don't perform outdoors. Let the music KEEP ON ROLLIN' and keep it indoors!!!
Brian McKnight and Joe - Amazing!
The show was fantastic! I, as a huge Joe fan, always enjoy his performances. Joe's leadership is evident in his tight band, a true testament to his skills. I wished for a longer set from Joe, but time constraints limited that. The Music of ABBA: Dancing Queen was a delightful experience that entertained and engaged the audience in a humorous and interactive manner. It was amusing to see the attempt to involve the audience in singing riffs and performing curly cues, though it didn't quite work out. Their sons' involvement in the show was well-received by the audience, and the prideful smiles on stage during their performances spoke volumes. This was a great show, showcasing pure musical talent and providing a refreshing experience for me, a Muszikfan.
Bruce delivers again
In recent years, my partner and I have been spoiled with the number of shows he's done in Chicago and Milwaukee, as well as the availability of Dancing Queen: The Music of ABBA cds. This show was particularly special, as we got to hear Born to Run start to finish just a few days before Bruce's 60th birthday. The band is likely to take extended time off after this tour, making the experience even more memorable. Despite the over 3 hours of nonstop performance at the United Center, Bruce had the audience on their feet all night. I didn't mind that he played only one song from Working on a Dream, as he performed many songs from his early albums. It never feels like just a greatest hits show, with the band clearly enjoying themselves and Bruce effortlessly energizing the crowd. A bittersweet moment was watching Clarence struggle to walk, ultimately needing a hydraulic lift to leave the stage. Excited for the next show in Milwaukee.
eXPERIENCE
This was the second time that I had seen The Music of ABBA: Dancing Queen, with my first time being their last tour- The Music of ABBA: Dancing Queen 360° tour. What makes this latest Dancing Queen: The Music of ABBA iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE tour so wonderful is playing at smaller arenas like The Forum, instead of large stadiums like Angel Stadium during the last tour.
New York City UFC viewing.....AWESOME
I was pleasantly surprised going to a Dancing Queen: The Music of ABBA "viewing event". I didn't know what to expect. Who ever decided to put together hundreds of New York UFC fans to watch an event is either brilliant or insane. Watching her screaming and going crazy along with the rest of the passionate New York crowd was amazing. Mauricio "SHOGUN" Hua, at the top of the list, is now one of my girlfriend's favorite fighters. New Yorkers are some of the toughest, most passionate people around, as we know, and having this event in the iconic Radio City Music Hall added up to an electric event that needs to be repeated as often as possible. She is a UFC junkie now, like the rest of us. I can't wait to take my beautiful girl to see "SHOGUN" live in Montreal this May. I can't wait to watch her go crazy.
